One of the most challenging aspects of drawing a music comic is how to portray the music. If it is a song, the problem is greatly reduced, but to convey the abstract qualities and emotional complexities of a symphony or sonata requires a lot of forethought and, in my case, considerable research and design work. In the course of exploring the topic I discovered things about sound effects I suspect most comics creators don’t delve into too deeply into.
